Network Stumbler 0.4.0.554 full version is a wifi scanner and monitor tool for windows, it allows you to detect WLANs using 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g wireless cards. Its targeted to network professionals however is widely used by networking enthusiasts and hackers because it helps you find non broadcasting wireless networks. Among it uses are: 1.- Verify that our network is well configured. 2.- Study the signal strength or coverage on different points of our network. 3.- Detect interference between one or more wireless networks. 4.- Its really useful to point directional antennas for long distance links or just put the wireless card and antenna in the best signal point. 5.- Can be used to detect non authorized connections. 6.- Wardriving, which means detect all routers near to your network. It offers same of the functions mentioned above for GPS networks, obviously using the correct antennas, however isnt commonly used to achieve this. Unfortunately it doesnt support all wireless cards and Windows Vista isnt officially supported, thought some people reports that it works fine, I didnt have the same luck and it didnt work on my laptop. If you need Net Stumbler functionality in Vista, try Vista Stumbler!

I’m currently using Network Stumbler to see SNR data of some WLan SSID. But can anyone tell me how to record or save these SNR values using this software? Or if it can not, please suggest me other software which will be able to do recording or saving for SNR value.

To save your data using Network Stumbler, you either use the Save As option or the Export one. The latter one will allow you to save the data to various file formats like text files. Both options can be found under the File button on the upper toolbar. By choosing the available options, you can select between each one. For additional information, you can check the User Manual that is available under the Help from the same toolbar.

What’s new in last version?

Fixed bug (introduced in 0.3.30) that caused "Reconfigure" to put ORiNOCO cards into a state where they would report no access points.
Support for Atheros, Atmel, Intersil Prism based wireless cards. Improved support for Cisco cards.
Allow use of Serial Earthmate GPS. (USB Earthmate should already work using NMEA and serial driver)
If you scroll all the way to the right of the graph view, it will auto-scroll new data.
Fixed bug (introduced in 0.3.30) in graph view: corrupted display when scrolling.
Fixed bug in graph view: improper scroll bar tracking with large data sets.

I am dissapointed with the hand history though, it give you all the information you need, but you really have to play with it to get any workable stats. If you are a night owl like me, it can be slim pickings at the tables in the early hours durring the week.

ALL trial period limitations should be shown before the download. The output of this program is corrupted on purpose … I wasted half an hour installing (and uninstalling) this product.

  8. No idea if this sort of thing actually works. But this is a headache-free way to find out 😉

Minimal ads that can be removed with donation. Port-forwarding required if behind router; DDNS (or static IP) also needed unless you only plan to use it at home.

  10. I am so sick and tired of hearing the PDF creation scam!
All this program does is CONVERT a document into a PDF using the print command.
A true PDF CREATOR is a program where you can write the text, insert bookmarks, headers, footers, page numbers, security, etc, and then save that document as a COMPLETE PDF.
Programs which “create” PDFs using the print command only create an IMAGE of a document, but not a true full featured PDF.

  11. No cons as this program only is for fast image-backup

Good program, runs with other antiviruses like Norton, Avast, etc.

  13. There is an optional upgrade option that you must pay extra for. I was able to solve my primary issue with the free version.

Using Win7Ult x64. After 2 weeks started crashing at every startup. Reinstall did not solve prob. Also many of the scan results had bogus entries, several appearing on EVERY network I scanned. Leaves a folder behind when uninstalling.

This software is created by scammers. It does not function as an antimalware software. The creators of the software care only about getting your credit card. Stay far away from this software.

This is basically the worst program I’ve ever used, I recommend checking it out if you want a good laugh. Do you generally consider psychadelic, flashing anime characters to be out of place for an audio repair device? Well, whoever made this program didn’t. How about random, Matrix-esque digit displays that are constantly running even when the program is idle? Yep, it’s got that too. Basically right after installing the software I got terrified that I had installed some sort of virus because the program is *SO* messed up. The progress bars aren’t labeled at all and they don’t walk you through the process, so I stopped the program manually midway through because I got worried it was just going to delete all of my files. Add a bunch of misleading pop-up ads, a super-confusing interface and poor English, and you get a program that should just be removed from Download.com/CNET entirely.

  20. Has tons of bloatware in the download and it is not FREE as it says it is.

  21. First, I used OBD-PC Link.

The user interface should have a distinct wizard interface in addition to a professional interface. Now it’s kind of both combined, therefore neither. You may get network issues when you combine Acronis with McAfee. Error handling should be improved.

  23. none. strongly recommend

None that I’ve found so far. More skins would be nice.

The pre-packaged pep talk phrases on the pop-up visual are boring. But you can eliminate that problem by providing your own phrase.

  26. The configuration is a little difficult for the novice. If you know anything about computers at all, the setup is easy. Don’t be intimidated by other reviews. It’s not that hard.
